Claude and Didier talk at length to Chelsea magazine

A football match with Claude Makelele an attacking force behind strikers
trying to get the better of a defence featuring Didier Drogba. That may
sound like a bizarre dream but it might once have been a reality, as
revealed in the new edition of Chelsea magazine.
前腰馬卡？ 後衛獸巴？
The May edition features major interviews with both players in which each
talks about his early playing days. While Drogba was persuaded to move up
the park from right-back by his uncle, it wasn't until Claude was at his
third professional club, Spanish side Celta Vigo, that he was asked to
drop the midfield anchor.
獸巴是被他叔叔從右後衛拉去打前鋒的，馬卡直到在塞爾塔維戈才被當作後腰使用。
He reveals:“My manager tells me that he likes my style, my simple
football, playing the ball quickly, talking on the field. I was young and
he told me that I have the right qualities to take on a defensive midfield
role.
教練喜歡馬卡的足球風格，簡單快速，有潛力打後腰。
“I had no choice in the matter really. The manager told me I had to play
there so I had to. I was happy with it though. I am good at adapting.”
馬卡也沒得選擇，只好打後腰，不過適應得還不錯。
It was in the French League that Drogba developed into the player he is
now including time spent in the lower divisions.
德羅巴回憶他在低級別聯賽的時光。
“Most of the players here [at Chelsea] came through the academy at a big
club. This way of doing things is all they have ever known. I think
playing for smaller teams and having to work hard to get here has made me
a better player and a better person.”
大多數卻爾西球員都是大球會青訓出身的，但他認為從小球會奮鬥向上讓他更好。
In the interview Drogba talks more on his passage from boy finding it hard
to balance football with schoolwork to Chelsea record signing. He
discusses racism in football, goal celebrations and how William Gallas
helped him have a birthday to remember.
獸巴還談到他的足球之路、種族主義、進球慶祝，還有加拉幫他過生日。
Makelele meanwhile has words of encouragement for Chelsea's future
Champions League hopes. Experience is the key he says and he should know.
He doubts his absence alone has been behind Real Madrid's failure to match
their success with him in the team but reveals some of the secrets behind
his longevity.
馬卡談到歐冠、經驗、皇馬、還有老而彌堅的秘訣。
It's a longevity that has seen Makelele persuaded out of international
retirement along with Zinedine Zidane and Lilian Thuram.
當然還提到回歸國家隊的事。
“The French were in a difficult position and they needed us. Now every
player in the French squad is with a top European team. We have a strong
team, a different team, probably with more individual quality than in 1998.
I think the French will win it [the World Cup].”
當時法國很危險，需要老將出來救駕。馬卡也相信法國能贏世界盃。
There will be many a Chelsea team-mate that will argue that! One may be
Didier Drogba who will be spearheading Ivory Coast in their first Finals.
象牙海岸第一次打進世界盃。
“At the World Cup we have a very hard group but you never know what could
happen. You only have to see what Greece did a couple of years ago to see
that anything is possible.”
象牙海岸處於死亡之組，不過什麼事都可發生，希臘不也拿冠軍了嗎。
