Lyons out to 'break bank' for Drogba

Lyons are targeting Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, with the French club's
president Jean-Michel Aulas claiming he is prepared to "break the bank" to
lure him away.
Although Drogba has been heavily criticised for diving, he remains one of
manager Jose Mourinho's favourite players and contributed 10 goals in 29
games during Chelsea's march to the Premiership title.
Argentina striker Hernan Crespo is far more likely to leave Chelsea this
summer, especially with Mourinho and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon
stepping up their efforts to land AC Milan's Andriy Shevchenko in a ￡30
million deal.
Aulas fears Chelsea are reluctant to sell Drogba, but, according to reports
in France, he has contacted Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in an effort to
persuade them to sell.
"Didier is one of the best players in Europe," Aulas said. "It would be a
dream to sign him. I think they [Chelsea] absolutely want to keep him. But
we're ready to break the bank."
