Former Chelsea ace Kerry Dixon has backed the club on the three transfer
deadline day dealings.
前藍軍凱利˙迪克森支持俱樂部在轉會截止日前的三筆交易。
Dixon, the second highest scorer in Chelsea history, was speaking on
Chelsea TV when analysing the moves that took Ashley Cole to Stamford
Bridge, William Gallas to Arsenal and Robert Huth to Teesside.

“It's been a bit of a saga,” he said. “With Gallas going the opposite
way there has been a bit of a sadness,

“He has been one of our best players consistently over the period he was
at Chelsea. I'm sorry to see him go but I don't agree with his antics -
the way he went was very unsavoury and sour. But Ashley Cole, currently
the best left-back in the world, coming to Chelsea is a wonderful deal for
the club.

“I feel a bit sorry for Wayne Bridge but I think there is going to be
competition for places because he has been playing really well. He is up
against Ashley, as he is with England, and I look forward to the

“Robert Huth never really had the opportunity to shine here,” added
Kerry on Thursday's third mover. “He was always in the shadows of John

“I wish him well at Middlesbrough. Six million for Huth I think is a good
deal and all in all, I think the whole of Chelsea's transfer activity on
the last day has been excellent for the club.”
