Joe has signed a new four year contract with Chelsea this summer. “Joe is world class,” said John at an England press conference in Germany yesterday. “I was asked many times who would be the biggest star of the World Cup and everybody was looking at other players from other teams. “But Joe is the player in our team who can change a game, just by his skill and what he’s got as an individual, and he can do really well in this tournament. “I’m sure Jose would have been watching how he has been doing. Joe wants to start next year for Chelsea and if he keeps playing like he is he’s going to be the first name on the team-sheet. “He was Chelsea’s best player last year. Jose knows how to play him, praises him when he needs to be praised and tells him off when he needs to be told off. “He’s a player who can take the praise and the criticism. The criticism only makes him stronger. “Joe is absolutely frightening when you see him one-on-one with someone. You can’t live with him. He attacks, he’s got skills, he gets back defensively and he’s got goals in him. “You see him getting back and tackling. He’s not just about going forward. He gets stuck and helps defensively. He’s become more of a team player. “Out on the pitch there’s not many like him, it just comes naturally to him.
