A last minute equaliser when reduced to ten men was not enough to get
Chelsea Youth past Jose Mourinho's former club last night as they lost on
penalties to Porto Youth in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup. Chelsea now go
on to play Londonderry this afternoon, Friday.

Coach Ruud Kaiser was very unhappy with the first-half performance, but
full of praise for 16 year old substitute Lee Sawyer who is returning from
a ruptured cruciate ligament. As a schoolboy, Sawyer was one of the stars
of this tournament last year when Chelsea reached the Final.
凱薩對上半場的表現非常不爽，不過大讚了替補上場的索伊爾。
The semi-final was one year ago today, and Chelsea played Porto then,
winning on penalties. This time Porto gained revenge.

Ruud was angry about the opening half. “We played sloppy, slow, we
couldn't handle the Number 10 of Porto. We were running after them. They
had their first chance after 12 seconds. They scored with a header from a
corner after 15 minutes.”
上半場太混了，壓制不住波爾圖的10號球員，而且太早失球。
But everything changed at half-time. “I put on Lee Sawyer to play on
their Number 10. Coming back from injury he was fantastic. This week he's
played for 10 minutes, then 12 minutes, then 20, and now 35. He was the
best man on the pitch, he was marvellous.

“After 20 more minutes they take their Number 10 off. It's great for Lee.
He completely changed the game.”

Midway through the half a quickly chipped free-kick by Sergio Tejera hit
the bar. With ten minutes to go when Fabio Ferreira was sent on the team
switched to 3-3-4. In the last minutes right-back Nana Ofori-Twamasi was
pushed up front, but things worked against Chelsea. “He was dribbling
when he lost the ball,” says Ruud, “and he tried to retrieve it but was
late and was sent off. It was not a surprise the red card, but he was
trying for the ball and was unlucky.”

But even when down to ten men Chelsea fashioned an equaliser. “A great
ball from Sam Hutchinson, a diagonal to Ben Sahar on the left hand side,
and he was quicker than his opponent into the box, and his little cross
was finished by Scott Sinclair.”

As they play every day, there is no extra time and the game went straight
to penalties. Porto shot and scored first, Hutchinson equalised. Porto
scored, Sahar missed. Porto missed, Sinclair stepped up for his shot and
the referee said he wasn't on the list. There was a disagreement but the
referee's decision stood, so Shaun Cummings stepped forward and he scored.
Porto scored again and Sawyer missed. Porto had won.
直接進入點球大戰，第二罰薩哈爾和第四罰索伊爾沒踢進，所以輸了。
“Losing on penalties is a little bit of bad luck,” said Ruud, “but if
we had started well they would not have happened.”
開局不好，又輸了點球，沒辦法。
