The first show was on Sky One on Friday and can now be viewed on the Football Icon website. There were impressive performances from some of the hundreds of boys, aged 16 and 17, who took part in the four Roadshows, which were held in Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and London during the summer. Most notable was Anthony Cooke (Cookie), a 17 year-old attacking midfielder from Hackney, who scored more than 80,000 points out of the 84,000 maximum. 17歲的安東尼˙庫克拿下84000的預選賽最高分。 The seven tests devised by the Chelsea coaches were designed to test a variety of footballing skills, including passing, shooting and dribbling. Neil Bath, the manager of the Chelsea Academy and the main judge, was one of many impressed by the overall standard. Another taking part in the first programme was John Terry, himself a product of the Chelsea Academy. He spoke of what it means to pull on a Chelsea shirt. Jose Mourinho held his captain up as a role model for anyone entering the competition. The next programme in the ten-part series will feature the selection weekend held in Cobham in mid-July.
