However, Sportsmail understands that Myers is likely to return to Chelsea's Cobham training ground in the future, with the move being viewed as a short term switch. Chelsea have already sent two players - Lewis Baker and Nathan - on loan to the GelreDome this summer, with more expected to follow. Myers expressed his delight at the move, telling Vitesse's official website: 'I'm looking forward to joining the staff of the first team of Vitesse. I know Vitesse and I hope to develop together with the staff.' Myers would be expecting to work with any players Chelsea loan to the club in his new role as first team assistant coach. The Blues loaned five of their young players to Vitesse last season in a bid to develop them for the first team at Stamford Bridge. Those loanees helped Vitesse to a ninth place finish in the Dutch Eredivisie. Dominic Solanke impressed, scoring seven times in 25 appearances - only three behind the club's top scorer Valeri Qazaishvili. Myers had a long career in the Premier League and Football League between 1991 and 2005. The defender came through the youth system at Chelsea before moving to Bradford City in 1999. He ended his career with time at Colchester United and Brentford. The 42-year-old's time in coaching has been exceptionally successful.
