His twisting solo run and deft finish into the net at the Matthew Harding End against Arsenal beat off competition for the award from seven other nominated goals. The winner was judged by a combination of votes from a judging panel and a poll of supporters. Hazard said on receiving the accolade: 'It is always good to win trophies. It is not my most important target to win Goal of the Month, I want to win big trophies at the end of the season, but it is something I can say in few years' time to my kids that I scored a beautiful goal against Arsenal. 'It means a lot for the fans and for us, because it was a derby and we won the game. That is the most important thing in football, that you win the game if you score a fantastic goal, and I hope to score more goals like this.' It is the second time a Chelsea player has won this Goal of the Month award, which was introduced by the Premier League this season. Pedro's strike in another home London derby, against Tottenham, was judged November's best. In the Championship, Izzy Brown was one of four players nominated for that division's Player of the Month for February. The 20-year-old striker, who is on loan at Huddersfield, found the net against Leeds and QPR and was involved in three goals against promotion rivals Brighton.
