Our youngsters will be taking part in six different competitions across
Under-18, Under-19 and development squad age groups this season.

The youth team will continue to participate in the Under-18 Premier League
from August until April, with the programme split regionally between north
and south sections. Jody Morris's side, who won all three competitions
they entered last term, will face the 11 other southern teams twice both
at home and away.

In a change to the league format, the merit round has been dropped so the
national champions will be determined by a playoff game between the north
and south section winners. The campaign begins with an away game at Aston
Villa on Saturday 12 August.

A new Under-18 Premier League Cup has been added to the programme to
compensate for the lost league fixtures and is set to begin in September.
Six groups of four will be created and teams will play each other once
either at home or away before the competition moves into a knockout
format. Group details will be announced shortly.

Following a one-year hiatus as a result of our Champions League absence,
our Under-19s return to the UEFA Youth League this season. Joe Edwards
will take charge of the group, who won the competition in both 2015 and
2016.

The youngsters will mirror the group stage draw of Antonio Conte's first
team, which will be made on Thursday 24 August. The group winners advance
straight to the last-16, while the runners-up face a one-legged playoff
tie against those who progress through the domestic champions route.

Before those European exertions commence, the development squad open their
domestic campaign in Premier League 2, the former Under-21 league format
now in its second season. Following a fifth-place finish in Division One
last term, our predominantly teenage team will return to the top tier and
kick off with a trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City next
Friday 11 August.
U23繼續參加PL2的比賽。
Swansea City and West Ham will be new opponents at this age group
following their promotion last season, replacing relegated Reading and
Southampton. The age range continues to stretch to Under-23, with teams
also permitted to field 'over-age' outfield players and an 'over-age'
goalkeeper. However, like last season when we were one of the youngest
groups in the league, our ranks will mainly be Under-19s or younger.
The development squad will also return to the Checkatrade Trophy in
2017/18, the sponsored Football League Trophy. The competition returns
following last season's pilot with 16 development teams invited to
participate alongside the 48 League One and League Two sides. Teams face
each other once in the group before the top two advance to the last-32.

The senior sides of Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle and Yeovil Town make up
Southern Group D, in which our youngsters will be hoping to experience
unique development opportunities against first team opposition. All games
will be played away from home with the opener taking place at Plymouth's
Home Park on Tuesday 15 August.
