https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/10/ internationals--england-u17s-top-their-group-.html Internationals: England U17s top their group Sat 14 Oct 2017 Three Chelsea players were involved as England made it a perfect three wins out of three from their group-stage matches at the Under-17 World Cup. Defender Marc Guehi started for the third game in a row and midfielder Conor Gallagher was named in the starting line-up for the first time this tournament as Iraq were defeated 4-0. Callum Hudson-Odoi was introduced with 67 minutes played and went close to scoring when he hit a post. The goals in the match held in Kolkata in India were scored by Manchester United's Angel Gomes in the first half, followed by two in three second-half minutes by Arsenal's Emile Smith-Rowe and Reading's Danny Loader who later added the fourth. England also had a penalty saved in the first period. Two other Chelsea players in the squad, George McEachan and Jon Panzo, were unused subs with Guehi substituted with 18 minutes left to play. England will now play Japan in the Round of 16 on Tuesday and do not need to relocate from Kolkata. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/10/ shootout-success-sends-young-lions-through.html Shootout success sends young Lions through Tue 17 Oct 2017 England's youngsters advanced into the quarter-finals at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in India following a penalty shootout victory over Japan in Kolkata. Four representatives from the Chelsea Academy featured from the start for Steve Cooper's side, who had won all three of their group games prior to the last-16 contest. Marc Guehi and Jon Panzo lined up in the centre and left-side of defence respectively, while George McEachran anchored in central midfield and Callum Hudson-Odoi started on the left flank. Conor Gallagher was an unused substitute. The young Lions enjoyed more possession but clear-cut opportunities were split fairly evenly between the two sides across the 90 minutes, with the Japanese coming strong in the second period. Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster hit the post prior to the interval, while Hudson-Odoi teed up a flurry of chances from out wide that lacked the necessary finish from inside the 18-yard box. One particular moment of magic saw the 16-year-old skip away from the right-back with pace and skill before he rolled a ball across the face of goal that ought to have been turned in from close range. It finished goalless in normal time so a shootout was required to determine which side would progress. England were faultless from 12 yards, netting all five of their spot-kicks, with Hudson-Odoi's precise low effort buried into the bottom corner. Manchester City goalkeeper Curtis Anderson then took centre stage in saving Japan's third attempt and scoring himself, before Nya Kirby slotted in the winning kick. England will now face USA in the quarter-finals this Saturday 21 October. Mali, Spain, Iran and Germany make up the last-eight pack, with Ghana versus Niger and Brazil against Honduras scheduled for tomorrow to complete the line-up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/10/ internationals--england-youngsters-into-world-cup-semis.html England youngsters into World Cup semis Sat 21 Oct 2017 All five Chelsea Academy youngsters featured for England as the young Lions booked a spot in the semi-finals at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. After advancing from the group stage with three wins from three, Steve Cooper's side needed a penalty shootout to get past Japan in the last-16 and set up a quarter-final meeting with USA in Goa today (Saturday). Jon Panzo, Marc Guehi, George McEachran and Callum Hudson-Odoi all started as a blistering opening saw England 2-0 up inside 15 minutes. Manchester City's Phil Foden twice played the role of provider and Rhian Brewster, formerly a striker in the Chelsea Academy, twice reaped the rewards as he first reacted quickest to turn in a rebound and then dinked the ball wonderfully over the advancing American keeper. Hudson-Odoi almost claimed an eye-catching assist early in the second half as his no-look reverse pass found Morgan Gibbs-White but the Wolves midfielder was unable to beat Justin Garces in the USA goal. However, Gibbs-White did make it 3-0 a few moments later with a smart finish from Brewster's right-sided cross. Josh Sargent reduced the deficit to keep the American dream alive for the final 20 minutes but the young Lions maintained their composure and control in the contest, with McEachran in particular both sensible and productive in possession. Brewster completed his hat-trick deep in stoppage time, converting a penalty having himself been taken down inside the box. The only blot on the copybook for our quintet was a yellow card for substitute Conor Gallagher late on, his second caution at the tournament now ruling him out of the semi-finals. After triumphing at the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea earlier in the summer, England's youngsters are now one game away from a second World Cup final in five months. They will face either Germany or Brazil in the semi-finals next Wednesday. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/10/ england-under-17s-reach-world-cup-final.html England Under-17s reach World Cup final Wed 25 Oct 2017 Four Chelsea players featured for England Under-17s as they beat Brazil 3-1 to reach the World Cup final for the first time in their history. Marc Guehi, Jon Panzo, George McEachran and Callum Hudson-Odoi all started for England, who overcame the South Americans thanks to a Rhian Brewster hat-trick. Conor Gallagher, the other Chelsea player in the England squad, missed the game due to injury. England now play Spain in the final on Saturday. England took the lead at the Salt Lake Stadium in India after just 10 minutes through Brewster, who has now scored hat-tricks in both the quarter-finals and semi-finals, and it was a goal which owed much to the intelligence of Hudson-Odoi, who supplied a teasing cross from the left-hand side which Brewster met on the volley. While Brazil keeper Gabriel Brazao saved the initial strike, the rebound fell invitingly for the young striker who made no mistake second time around. Brazil's response to falling behind was impressive and they should have been back on level terms three minutes later, but somehow both Lincoln and Vitao failed to apply the vital touch as the ball fizzed across the face of an open goal. The Brazil pressure had been building, though, and the equaliser they'd been threatening arrived in the 21st minute in similar circumstances to England's opener. Goalkeeper Curtis Anderson saved a powerful Paulinho drive, but defender Wesley reacted quickest to pounce on the loose ball and fire home. It was an open, entertaining contest in hot and humid conditions, with both teams looking to play on the front foot. An electric burst from Hudson-Odoi, who was playing on the left of the attacking trio in behind Brewster, led to an England corner from which captain Joel Latibeaudiere headed agonisingly wide, and at the other end Brazil passed up a brilliant opportunity to take the lead when Brenner, who was clean through on goal, rolled his effort beyond the far post. Those Chelsea players on show were performing well; Guehi and Panzo looked assured at the back, McEachran was using the ball well in midfield and the pace and direct running of Hudson-Odoi was always a threat. Six minutes before the break England restored their advantage with a well-worked team goal that was once again finished by Brewster. The impressive Phil Foden fed Steven Sessegnon on the overlap, and his delivery landed at the feet of the forward, who crashed his strike into the roof of the net. Hudson-Odoi started the second half on the right-hand side and it was from that position he got forward and picked out the run of Brewster, who was arriving at the far post, with a well-placed cross, but the striker steered his header over the bar. The second half picked up where the first left off, with impressive attacking play, and plenty of chances, at both ends. Foden's low drive for England was well saved and Paulinho then went close for Brazil at the end of a penetrating run. As the half progressed, it became clear the next goal would be crucial, and it went England's way 14 minutes from time when Brewster completed his hat-trick. Much of the credit must go to Foden, who beat a couple of Brazil defenders before switching it out to Emile Smith-Rowe, with the substitute's low cross turned in at the back post by Brewster. The result was no more than England, who were the better team throughout, deserved, and they were able to sit back and watch the second semi-final between Mali and Spain, the latter of whom they will now play Saturday's final. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/10/ england-u17s-crowned-world-cup-champions.html England U17s crowned World Cup champions Sat 28 Oct 2017 Five Chelsea Academy youngsters featured as England overturned a two-goal deficit to beat Spain 5-2 in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup final. Manager Steve Cooper named an unchanged starting 11 from the 3-1 semi-final win over Brazil as Marc Guehi and Jon Panzo lined up in defence, George McEachran as the deep midfield controller and Callum Hudson-Odoi down the left flank. Conor Gallagher was a late substitute as Chelsea contributed a quarter of the young Lions to have played at the tournament. England were 2-0 down after half an hour in Kolkata as Sergio Gomez struck twice to give the Spaniards a clear advantage. Many of the players had featured in the U-17 European Championship final in May, when Cooper's side conceded a 96th-minute equaliser before Spain won on penalties. Those memories will have been firmly in the minds of England players but they fought back bravely and reduced the deficit before half-time though Rhian Brewster, the tournament's top goalscorer. Hudson-Odoi had earlier struck the base of the post as the young Lions responded with belief and quality. The second half saw England launch a stunning comeback, with Hudson-Odoi chief creator and Guehi among the goalscorers. Our 16-year-old forward supplied the cross for Morgan Gibbs-White to equalise after an hour before Manchester City's Phil Foden, impressive throughout the tournament, netted the first of his brace to put England in front for the first time. Guehi, an ever-present in India, made it 4-2 with six minutes remaining, turning in a loose ball from five yards out after Spain failed to clear Hudson-Odoi's free-kick from the left. An added gloss was added to the scoreline moments later as Foden added a fifth, Hudson-Odoi again supplying from the left for the City man to fire past the goalkeeper. It means England have now won two World Cup titles in four months, the Under-17 triumph following on from success at the Under-20 finals in the summer. All five Chelsea representatives with the Under-17s have been in our Academy since the age of eight and Neil Bath, Head of Youth Development at the club, had words of praise for the achievement. 'We're all delighted to see the boys win a World Cup and the fact that all five have been at the club since joining the Academy as Under-9s makes it even more special,' he told the official Chelsea website. 'All the staff, players and parents will be rightly proud to see such an amazing achievement. 'To come back from 2-0 down and score five goals shows incredible character and to watch that performance and result, for somebody who has been in youth development for many years, was quite overwhelming. 'Following on from a summer of successes for England youth teams, a huge congratulations must go to the FA and obviously the fact we at Chelsea have played a part is something everybody at the club should be proud of.' -- 聖保羅˙費雷拉 在一群球霸、色鬼、自大狂、幼稚鬼、懶惰蟲、貪婪鬼的足壇中 體現了身為一名職業球員有多麼的艱難與偉大!
