Jody Morris's side completed a clean sweep in all four competitions they entered, retaining the FA Youth Cup for the fifth year running as well as the national and regional titles. https://i.imgur.com/sgBCadj.jpg
At the end of a remarkable campaign, the official Chelsea website sat down with Morris and Under-18s assistant Ed Brand to reflect on the moments that defined a stunning season... == Standout moment == 'There's been some great moments, obviously winning four trophies and also moments within that like winning 15 games in a row in all competitions,' Morris began. 'Leicester away in the league was a moment for us because of the type of game it was – a tough match and coming from behind to win. It was a great feeling and even better that Tushuan Walters, who had only joined us from grassroots football a couple of months before, came on to get the winner. https://i.imgur.com/Cjelur5.jpg
Tushaun Walters celebrates his late winner against Leicester 'You also have to mention the Southampton game in October as a moment; not a good moment for us but a pivotal moment in our season. That was the weekend after Leicester and we lost 4-0. It was a wake-up call that you can't take your foot off the gas because we were missing the England Under-17 World Cup boys and those who came into the team showed why they hadn't been first choice. The manner in which we lost was not good but you wonder if we hadn't experienced that whether we would have gone on the run we did and ended up with four trophies.' 'We didn't have a game for a while after that so there was a bit of time to stew on it but also for us to get it out of our systems and get the international boys back,' added Brand. 'It was definitely a moment for us because it was something we could always refer back to and use to remind the players what can happen if you don't do things properly.' == Team performance == 'The games that spring to mind are West Brom in the FA Youth Cup and Everton in the Under-18 Cup, for two totally different reasons,' said Morris. 'Against West Brom, everything seemed to click both on and off the ball, we played some outrageous stuff and made a very good team look average. 'A completely different game was against Everton where we were really up against it; we had players missing, people making their first starts and playing out of position, plus the pitch was in a bad state and it was only a few days after Tottenham in the Youth Cup. We showed the spirited side of our game, team work and working hard for each other, but also dominated the game at a tough place like Everton. https://i.imgur.com/HC6sK3l.jpg
The young Blues won the inaugural Under-18 Premier League Cup but had to battle hard in victories away at Everton and Sunderland 'I remember we were really proud with that performance and I think it's one of the reasons why we managed to win everything because whenever there were certain obstacles in front of us, we found different ways to win different games.' == Toughest challenge == 'One thing that stands out for me this season is the different periods of several big games coming within a few days of each other,' noted Brand. 'There were times when it was really intense with three or four big games in 10 days, then it went quiet for a couple of weeks before another hectic period. 'We had a spell in April when we were trying to win the southern league and get into the Youth Cup final at the same time so we knew it would take the whole squad to do it because players would have to rotate. We were in for 13 days straight and there were no rest days so that was a challenge for the players, one they responded to brilliantly. 'We beat West Ham 5-1 to win the league and then were great against Birmingham over two legs in the semi-final. It was a time when there were a few shocks going on in the senior game but our lads were professional and disciplined throughout.' == Goal of the season == 'Marc Guehi against Arsenal, the scissor kick,' said Morris instantly. 'For a centre-half to show that technical ability, and against Arsenal as well, was unbelievable. He finished with the second-most amount of goals for a defender in a youth team season but the truth is he should have been close to 20! He was such a threat for us all season.' https://twitter.com/ChelseaFC/status/907223971334156288 What a strike! Our Under-18s made it 43 games unbeaten at home with a 2-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday! 'In terms of a team goal, Martell Taylor-Crossdale finished a lovely move against Southampton, while Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a few worldies in the Youth Cup against West Brom and Birmingham,' added Brand. == Scholar of the Year == 'Billy Gilmour gets the award because of the levels he produces day-in, day-out in training,' admitted his manager. The 16-year-old was a summer signing from Glasgow Rangers and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign south of the border, culminating in a Youth Cup final goal and a Scotland Under-21 call-up. 'You never question his application, he's always one of the hardest workers, never late, and he gives any task in training the same attention as if he's playing a game. 'He's had a great first season at the club but the challenge for him now is to keep improving. He's got to come back in July and try to force his way into the Development Squad, and if that doesn't happen straight away, he needs to continue showing his quality, influence and leadership in the youth team.' == Worrying moment == 'Sunderland away!' replied Brand with a wry smile, remembering the Under-18 Cup quarter-final back in January. The former Chelsea reserves captain took charge of the side that day in the north-east as Morris was ill and the contest was action-packed and full of drama. 'That was the maddest experience I've had back at this Academy, sat on the sofa at home feeling so ill and following the game on Twitter,' recalls Morris. 'It was such a crazy game, with penalties missed and extra-time, so it was the weirdest experience for me.' 'It would have been so unjust on the lads if we hadn't got through because we were in control for long periods and Sunderland just wanted to contain us,' said Brand. 'It did feel like it was going to be one of those games because everything seemed to be going against us but we showed a bit of resolve and quality to get through it. 'For me as the lead coach that day, I think I aged about 25 years - I'm so glad we didn't lose the chance to win the quadruple on my watch!' -- 聖保羅˙費雷拉 在一群球霸、色鬼、自大狂、幼稚鬼、懶惰蟲、貪婪鬼的足壇中 體現了身為一名職業球員有多麼的艱難與偉大!
