The midfielder has been the star of the Blues campaign and it was no surprise he received the vast majority of the votes submitted by Chelsea supporters. Mount is the first Academy graduate to win the award since John Terry, and he made a point of thanking those who helped make him the player he is in his acceptance speech, which you can watch above. 'Following in the footsteps of some legends from this club, it means a lot to me,' said Mount. 'I want to say thanks to the Academy, all the coaches I worked under, Jim Fraser, Neil Bath. This is for them as well.' The moment was made more special for Mount because there were Chelsea fans inside the stadium for the first time in six months. 'To see them all back at the Bridge, we've missed them for so long,' he beamed. 'Thanks to them, and we do this for them. 'The season is not over yet and hopefully we can finish on a high. It could be a special year. We are going to keep working hard because we want to achieve greatness.'
