本週早些時候，歐足聯公佈了年度最佳男足球員的候選名單，自2011年該獎項設

三位候選人

當被問及他會選擇誰時，圖赫爾自然地說，他會分別給坎特和若日尼奧投一票。
圖赫爾自己也入選了年度最佳男足教練的候選名單，但這並不是他首先要考慮的
“我們都知道，我也聽說過，但這不是最重要的個人獎項。最重要的是我們作為
一個團隊奉獻了好的表現，包括我、教練組，所有的員工，當然也包括所有的球員。

Tuchel's praise for 'strategic' and 'top guy' Jorginho

It's been quite the few months for Jorginho, with the midfielder lifting
not one, not two but three major European trophies recently.

Our No.5 played a key role alongside N'Golo Kante as Chelsea defeated
Manchester City in the Champions League final in Porto in May, before
following that up with a pivotal contribution as Italy won Euro 2020 at
the expense of England.
After returning to pre-season training with Chelsea later than planned due
to his European exertions, the midfielder was among the silverware yet
again as the Blues defeated Villarreal to lift the Super Cup in Belfast.
His importance to both club and country is something that isn't lost on
Thomas Tuchel, who has highlighted the need for Jorginho in our midfield
and what attributes impress him most as we prepare for this afternoon's
London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
'Jorgi is a very strategic player,' our head coach said of our Italian
midfielder. 'He knows what to do in possession, he can imagine what is
going to happen one or two passes ahead and he knows where to help out in
short distances and longer distances.

Tuchel knows he can rely on Jorgi to set the tone
'He knows when to switch the play and not to switch the play. He has a
good sense of rhythm. He organises the environment around him and that
allows him to show his true abilities in controlling the rhythm of a game.
'As well as this, he is relentless in defence. He wants to help everywhere
on the pitch. He has a huge ability to run a lot for the team. Maybe he
lacks the high speeds, but he compensates with a lot of work-rate and
anticipation in his defensive work.

'On top of that, he is a top guy. He is funny, he has a big smile on his
face every single day, you can have chats with him and laugh every single
day. He is up for a laugh. He is in love with his game, and this is the
feeling he transports from the first minute. He never stops transmitting
this energy.'
Our head coach has also offered an insight into why he was happy to keep
the Italian pass-master as our vice-captain, with the boss explaining that
Jorginho is a player that loves to be involved with any tactical
discussions that take place.
'He is really into the game,' added Tuchel. 'Jorgi is always thinking
about tactics, he loves to be involved in that aspect, and I feel his true
love for the game.

Both Kante and Jorginho have been nominated for the UEFA Men's Player of
the Year award
'That makes him a very important player, and a huge link in the middle of
the pitch, not only for us, but for Italy.
'It's great people understand the importance of these characters, and what
they do. Sometimes they don't shine, but they make other people shine, and
this is so important.'

Thomas Tuchel confirmed yesterday that Trevoh Chalobah will be a part of
his plans for the upcoming season, the latest in a string of Academy
graduates to have made the step up at Chelsea, and the boss has been
discussing why he loves to work with homegrown players.

Chalobah's success has been one of the feel-good stories of the early
stages of the 2021/22 campaign, with the defender winning a trophy in his
first Blues games and then scoring a superb goal on his league debut.
For Tuchel, the 22-year-old's rise proves there remains plenty of
opportunities for our Academy players to break through and follow in the
footsteps of the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James.
'The door is always open,' said the boss. 'Always, always, always. I love
it, and I truly believe the supporters love it. The mix between big names
from abroad, big personalities, and famous players with the Academy guys
is what makes a club special.
'When you look at the photo when we raised the trophy in the Champions
League, there are so many boys from the Academy in this photo. That makes
it special, and this is how it has to be. It is always about the mix.

'At the same time, there are no gifts at this kind of level. You have to
earn your way, overcome obstacles and fight hard for it. If you want to
make it at Chelsea, it is so much harder than most other clubs in Europe.
It's the reality.
'We cannot start to prefer someone from the Academy over another player if
he does not provide the same level, because in the end we are here to win
football games and push the group to the highest level.
'This is what Trevoh did and I am more than happy to have him in the
squad,' continued Thomas. 'He joined the Academy at eight years old and
this is simply fantastic. I will always be happy to push players like
this, but then you have to take your heart into your hands and be brave
and courageous enough to take responsibility when it's there. We will
never hold anybody down.
'If you come from the Academy, if you can produce, if you are a nice guy
like Reecey, like Mason, like Trevoh, like Callum, we will never stop
pushing you. But we cannot go through the door. We can just open it and
show them the way, but the guys need to go through it themselves.'
