https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2022/04/30/ tuchel-updates-on-injured-trio-and-saul-s-future Tuchel updates on injured trio and Saul's future 30 Apr 2022 Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that three members of his squad remain out of contention to face Everton tomorrow, in addition to doubts over two more, as well as discussing Saul Niguez's Chelsea future. https://i.imgur.com/uuJ9lXL.jpg
The Spanish midfielder joined the Blues on a year-long loan from Atletico Madrid last summer, with the club having an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. That leaves his future uncertain beyond the end of the current campaign as he awaits news of the decision, after having to be patient for his opportunities in the team this season, making 21 appearances in total, 10 of them from the bench. However, Tuchel feels now is not the time for big decisions and talks about the future, with him and his team keeping their focus firmly on finishing the current campaign as well as possible, while he has no worries about the uncertainty affecting the ever-professional Saul. 'We will talk about it at the end of the season,' said our head coach. 'At the moment it's a bit of a difficult situation for him personally, but what I like about him is that he still gives his input. https://i.imgur.com/KQ8k2VO.jpg
'It is like this in team sports. Even if it does not make you happy, and I'm sure that he is not happy about the situation, he is still pushing and he is still positive and he takes care about the quality in training with the group that does not play so much, which means a lot to me and means a lot to the atmosphere in the dressing room and within the group that we stay competitive.' The German underlined the importance of Saul's attitude, feeling the way he continues to be a positive part of the squad even when things aren't going his way shouldn't be underestimated. 'I don't have a lot of good news for him when we talk about the line-up, but he needs to stay involved mentally and physically,' added the boss. 'This is what he does, although it's not easy for him, and for this we are very grateful. https://i.imgur.com/rvqVfwC.jpg
Saul trains at Cobham 'We also demand it, but it tells us that he's a real sportsman. It's not the moment now to talk about it, we still have to fight for direct qualification for the Champions League and for the best possible outcome, and we have a cup final to play. So we'll talk when it's time.' Tuchel also discussed the chances of five members of the squad who missed Thursday evening's 1-1 draw at Manchester United returning to the team sheet for our next match, when we travel to Everton in the Premier League tomorrow. Speaking on Thursday in the aftermath of our draw in Manchester, Tuchel confirmed that three injured players remain out of contention as they continue their recoveries, while two more are doubtful due to illness. 'From the injured players, Ben Chilwell for sure will not play, of course,' he explained. 'And for Mateo Kovacic it's too early, he has not been in team training so far, he has not come back. Callum Hudson-Odoi is the same as well. https://i.imgur.com/2RdS0vu.jpg
Kovacic has been out of action since picking up an injury in the FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace 'Andreas Christensen is a maybe, let's see after he was ill, and it is the same for Ross Barkley. We need to wait to see how they feel.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2022/05/01/ tuchel-reveals-frank-lampard-s-classy-message-after-he-took-chel Tuchel looking forward to his first meeting with Lampard 01 May 2022 Thomas Tuchel is relishing the opportunity of coming up against his predecessor Frank Lampard in the Goodison Park dugout and our head coach has revealed it will be the first ever in-person meeting between the pair. https://i.imgur.com/apx69jm.jpg
Despite claiming he would meet our record goalscorer for lunch shortly after succeeding him as Blues boss, Tuchel has yet to come face-to-face with Lampard, with their only previous conversation coming via a good luck message sent from the Toffees boss when the German took over at Stamford Bridge in January 2021. In the present day, Lampard's Everton have won just one of their last six matches in all competitions and find themselves in the relegation zone ahead of Chelsea's visit, who are looking to build on our strong performance at Old Trafford on Thursday. 'He sent me a very kind and respectful message after I took over at Chelsea, which meant a lot to me because I was a huge fan of him as a player and he is - and will remain - a legend at our club. This is absolutely sure and a given,' Tuchel revealed. 'I was very happy when he wrote me this very gentleman-like message. We didn't have the chance to go out and have lunch, then he took the chance to take charge of Everton and he took Joe Edwards [assistant coach] away from us, so we were not so happy with that!,' Tuchel added jokingly. https://i.imgur.com/oquRbnu.jpg
Lampard spent 18 months in the Blues dugout 'Of course, we were involved so we will meet some familiar faces on the other side, with Ashley Cole, Joey and Frank. I never met him in person so I will be happy to meet him but we arrive with our team, we need the points and they need the points urgently as well.' Our two Premier League matches this week are both at grounds that Thomas Tuchel has never visited before as Chelsea boss. While he had managed Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford in the Champions League, the same cannot be said for Goodison Park, and Tuchel is expecting a lively atmosphere on Merseyside, especially given their current situation. 'It's a very exciting week for me personally because I love to play at Old Trafford,' he continued. 'It's a fantastic stadium and one of the biggest stages in world football. https://i.imgur.com/bLKnBxR.jpg
Goodison Park is the only current Premier League ground Tuchel is yet to visit 'Everybody tells me about the atmosphere at Goodison Park and how emotional and tough it is to play there, so it's two nice fixtures and this is what it's all about. We're excited to go there and we expect a tough fight.' The Bavarian also had some hugely positive words to say on Frank Lampard's influence on some of our most talented Academy products, such as Reece James - who shone at Old Trafford in his latest outing. 'Frank did not do it to do them [our Academy graduates] a favour. I think that every coach does it because it's all about helping the team, it's not about age in either direction. 'I'm very grateful for the quality that the Academy produces and for the culture at Chelsea to push these boys through. It is our job to let them play, to prepare and push them on this kind of level. This is what Chelsea is all about and I'm happy for that.' -- When it comes to a crisis, still keep on running. You believe in power. It's mental power. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 111.249.156.234 (臺灣) ※ 文章網址: https://www.ptt.cc/bbs/Chelsea/M.1651329739.A.6CD.html
