After bringing the Bulls back Monday in Game 4 with 16 fourth-quarter points, Pargo led another inexplicable comeback Wednesday in Game 5. The reserve guard made three 3-pointers in the final minute to tie the score, only to watch Gilbert Arenas swish a jumper to give Washington a 112-110 victory. Pargo played just three minutes Wednesday, but he needed less than 35 seconds to tie the score at 110-110. When Kirk Hinrich rebounded his own missed free throw with 7.9 seconds left, Pargo anticipated the moment and shuffled behind the 3-point line. His thoughts turned to another astonishing playoff performance that occurred 10 years ago at New York’s Madison Square Garden. “Reggie Miller,” Pargo said. “Honestly.” Like thousands of Chicago high school kids, Pargo watched Miller score 8 points in 8.9 seconds to lift the Indiana Pacers to a 107-105 victory over New York in Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference semifinals. “Jannero’s instant offense,” Hinrich said. “He’s done that a lot this year. When he hits his first one, you look for him, because you know he’s got more in him.” Pargo’s clutch play led many to ponder why he played only three minutes, particularly after his effort in Game 4. He did not see the floor in the opening quarter and played only two minutes in the first half as the Bulls quickly fell behind by double digits. Only after Hinrich and Gordon missed critical 3-pointers did coach Scott Skiles summon Pargo with 41.4 seconds left. “Right now, that’s my role and I don’t think we need to switch that now ,” Pargo said. “Maybe if you want to bring me in a little bit earlier, maybe that could help, maybe not. Scott’s done a great job coaching all year , so whatever he feels is right, we’re definitely going to go with that.” Pargo has drained 10 of 24 shot attempts from beyond the arc in the playoffs, including a 3-for-3 effort in Game 5. He ranks fifth on the team in playoff scoring (10.3 ppg) but 10th in total minutes played (58). “What can you say about the guy?
