The Deng contract was probably a mistake, because he wasn't worth $72 million even when it was signed. Letting go of Gordon is a debatable move -- on the one hand, it gave them more wiggle room in 2010, but on the other hand, they could have gotten that by trading Kirk Hinrich sooner. It probably could have been stronger, and I'm not wild about his methods, but the results work. I hope his owner gives him a bit more freedom to really fill out a great team around Derrick Rose.
