USA Basketball announced Monday that Thibodeau and Williams will work the next three years under coach Mike Krzyzewski. The Chicago Bulls' Thibodeau and the New Orleans Pelicans' Williams will replace Mike D'Antoni and Nate McMillan. Krzyzewski calls Thibodeau "one of the best defensive coaches." He says of Williams: "Players love playing for him." Thibodeau said joining the Team USA coaching staff is "truly an honor." "To have the opportunity to represent our country in the Olympics in 2016, I'm thrilled, very excited about it. I'm looking forward to working with all the great coaches, Derrick [Rose], and the rest of the great players," he told ESPNChicago.com. Boeheim, D'Antoni and McMillan all worked under Krzyzewski since 2005, helping the Americans win two Olympic gold medals. Boeheim, Syracuse's longtime coach, is close friends with Krzyzewski and decided to remain for the next cycle, which starts with the 2014 World Cup of Basketball.
