剛好看到 mailbag 在解釋 simulated game 就順便貼上來不然不太了他們到底在幹嗎~~ A simulated game is designed to benefit the pitcher and allow him to work in a controlled environment. Usually Rothschild stands behind the pitcher on the mound, and two or three hitters rotate against the pitcher. For example, on April 30 in Houston, Borowski faced teammates Jose Macias and Ronny Cedeno. The number of pitches thrown is determined by Rothschild, depending on what the pitcher needs. When Macias got a "hit" -- there weren't any players in the field -- he stepped out and Cedeno stepped in. The entire process is designed to simulate a game. Rothschild also will call out situations -- man on first, one out, for example. It gets a pitcher thinking about game situations.
