Chicago has named third base coach Mike Quade manager for the rest of the season. Quade has been with the Cubs’ organization for eight years. The remainder of the coaching staff will remain intact, the team announced Sunday. In July, Piniella said he would retire at the end of the season, citing family reasons as the primary motivation. The Cubs hired Piniella after the 2006 season.
