Kris Bryant Admits His Injured Finger is Still Bothering Him http://tinyurl.com/y9yksvv7 While all Cubs fans exhaled when Kris Bryant returned to the lineup after an injury scare in July, it's unfortunately clear that he's still not 100 percent. Bryant hurt his pinkie finger on his left hand sliding into third base a few weeks ago, and the injury is still nagging, he admitted. According to KB, he injury affects Bryant's fielding more than anything, especially when he has to squeeze his glove. It'll be interesting to see what Joe Maddon does with Bryant. Maddon typically rests players to keep them fresh, so it would make sense for him to keep Bryant out a bit more in the coming weeks to allow him to heal properly. On the other hand, the Cubs are just a half game up on the Brewers in the division, so they need all the help they can get to make the playoffs. Bryant is a tough player, so he'll never ask out of the lineup, but a brief stint of rest could benefit him down the stretch. Bryant is hitting .274 with 20 home runs and 47 in 101 games this season.
