If he can tack on one more good start, he'll head home encouraged. ‧ Kenny Rogers hasn't pitched well lately and could be contemplating retirement. He might have second thoughts if he pitches well against the White Sox and Rays in his next two starts. ‧ Armando Galarraga might be getting tired but isn't sore and wants to prove he has something left. Whether he does or doesn't, he's had an excellent season. ‧ Zach Miner wasn't able to get a win when the Tigers led by eight in his last start. He wants to be part of the mix next year, so he'd like a good season-ending impression. ‧ Dontrelle Willis is excited to be starting Monday in Texas -- "I had to get back to where I felt I could help the team consistently." What a high it would be for him to finish with two strong starts. It's not far-fetched to envision the Tigers leaving spring training with a rotation of Verlander, Galarraga, Robertson, Willis and Garcia, with Jeremy Bonderman reclaiming his spot at some point and Miner retained in case he's needed. But no wonder Leyland says, "I don't know how it will all play out."
