2011 Tigers Tools: Best Defensive Catcher
Good defensive catchers are a valuable commodity across baseball and not
something to be taken lightly when you find one. A good backstop - even if
they can't hit a lick - has a chance to be a big leaguer on his defense alone.
The Tigers have had a few defensive stalwarts pass through the system in
recent years and that trend continues today.

Casali was a mid-round pick out of Vanderbilt this summer. He is an
above-average defender right now and could develop into a premium defender
in time. He has experience catching elite arms at Vanderbilt which should
ease his transition to pro ball.

McCann has an incredible catchers frame to go along with a powerful arm and
good catch-and-throw skills that could make him an elite defender as he
matures. He demonstrates good leadership qualities as well. Holaday topped
this list a year ago and many thought he would be an elite defensive catcher
right away. He has struggled adjusting to pro ball and still has trouble
blocking balls to his side.

學棒球世界大賽的領導者，防守評價5顆星，結果今年打完發現還在適應職業級強度，唯
一值得讚許的剩下call the game跟領導力XD，打擊也有點鳥蛋，還是有機會當大聯盟稱

Brantly and Roof are both average to slightly above-average defenders though
both need to improve their receiving ability and consistency behind the dish.
Rob Brantly(10年3輪)別忘了他打擊也很棒，Avila窮人版
Eric Roof(09年18輪)老爸是農場系統訓練員，他哥Shame Roof也在2A打拼，但他們的未
來都不在大聯盟。

Kunkel has topped this list in the past and was still in consideration for the
Top 5 this year. Scouts that saw him this year said they noticed decreased
mobility behind the plate and his pop times weren't quite as good as prior
years.
Jeff Kunkel(05年37輪)選進來的時候防守佔據第一名好些日子，如今他的防守退步了，
原本就很爛的打擊持續退化…明年要想在系統要很拚

Purroy is a very good defender for his age with a strong arm and he likes to
throw it around the diamond. He remains pretty rough blocking pitches but
could develop into an above-average defender. Tenia is a very good athlete
behind the plate and he also owns a strong arm.
