It is the third straight selection for Darvish, but it is likely to be the first time he will pitch. Dealing with midseason fatigue in each of the last two years, he was held back as an emergency pitcher in 2012 and was on the DL at the break last year. 連三年入選明星賽，不過有可能是第一次在明星賽投球。 “I really think he’s been better this year,” Washington said. “He looks more relaxed. He has more of a grasp of what he has to do. He’s learned the league a little bit. He’s commanding his fastball and really using it as a weapon. While he played things off as if he was unworthy of being an All-Star, he did indicate he would pitch if asked to this season. "I'm very honored and excited to be playing in the All-Star Game," Darvish said. "I'm kind of surprised. There are so many great pitchers, and I haven't had very many outings that I'm satisfied with. I think people still have the image of me from last year." Darvish said.
