15th February 2003 -- In its last 20 visits to Valladolid, Deportivo have
only taken one victory (0-1 on November 29 from Pauleta's goal), the teams
have drawn 6 times and Depor has lost 13 times conceding many goals as they
have scored only 13 and conceded 42. For Deportivo, it's like playing at
the Bernabeu or Camp Nou where they have also only gained one league victory.
The infamous Valladolid defender Juan Manuel Pena who had to stop training
on Wednesday because of a small injury, has recovered and will form a duo
with Argentinean David Munoz Mustafa.
Deportivo is facing Valladolid after a controversial week following the draw
against Osasuna which Irureta was criticised for. For this match, he won't
be able to count on international defender Cesar Martin who is injured, nor
the striker Diego Tristan who is suspended.
The Asturian will probably be replaced by Portuguese Jorge Andrade in central
defence, whereas Albert Luque is hoping to accompany Roy Makaay in the attack.
Moroccan Nourredine Naybet has trained with a protection for his left leg
as he has some problems with it. If he won't be able to play, it is likely
that Donato takes his place. Irureta has selected all players for the match
who are available for him, among them are Canary playmaker Juan Carlos
Valeron who could have some minutes at Zorrilla and probably will be a
starter in Wednesday's Champions League match.

Colsa, Chema; Oscar and Aganzo.
