[新聞]下賽季的電視轉播權
(我看到很多錢...很多錢....$_$)
2003/06/28 SOGECABLE拿到轉播權
Deportivo have reached an agreement with media company Sogecable, as this
company will have the exclusive rights for Depor's matches in both Liga and
Copa during for the seasons 2003/2004, 2004/2005 and 2005/2006. Figures have
yet to be released, but it's rumoured that Deportivo will receive the
interesting sum of 21 million Euros per year.
(那個金額只是傳言,只是傳言)
This will more or less the resemble the amounts earned in previous seasons. But
in these times of economic depression it's a great achievement that Lendoiro
has improved the deal, especially as it doesn't concern, for example,
Champions League football, the Teresa Herrera tournament, merchandising and
image rights. Lendoiro has been negotiating for four weeks in Madrid.
As soon as the deal was signed, the stock-options of Sogecable went up 5.76%.
This is an indication that both parties should be very satisfied with the
accord. Deportivo board member Pachi Dopico yesterday ratified this news,
during the celebration of the 9th International Gathering of the Penas
('supporters associations'). He said that "finally we have agreed on a deal.
It's a very important one for Deportivo and we were looking out to it. And in
the end the negotiations were worth it."
Other teams that also have signed with Sogecable (through the sub-company
Audiovisual Sport) are Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid. Sogecable
owns Canal Plus and Canal Satelite Digital. Recently, this major company has
also acquired from UEFA the broadcasting rights of Champions League's
'pay-per-view' games for the next three seasons.
However, Deportivo will probably re-negotiate the broadcasting of its
Champions League games with the public Spanish TV. In any case, this deal means
the end of Depor's financial troubles, as the club will now be able to pay its
debt to Gestport. Curiously, Gestport also belongs to Sogecable.
Issues such as merchandising or image rights are not included in this agreement
, although it was done in the previous TV contracts. This means that Deportivo
will yet have an extra direct source of income, which before had to be shared
with Gestsport.
Real Madrid get about 54 million Euro per season for their television rights,
but had to transfer 5% of several rights to the company (including internet
rights). Barcelona earn about 50 million Euro per season, and Atletico about
18 million Euro.
(好多錢...好多錢...皇馬和巴薩果然...$.$)
This economic bonanza will probably imply the final ratification of Irureta as
Depor's coach one more year, as well as the renewal of captain Fran. Also, a
serie of expected development plans (such as the new stadium) can now be
realistically envisaged.
(太好了!$_$)
Deportivo belongs to the so-called G-12 group. This is a group composed by the
12 most influential teams in the Spanish Liga. The group supports the idea
that each team should be allowed to individually negotiate their TV contracts.
Contrary to this opinion, there is the G-30 group, composed by modest teams
from both first and second division. These teams aim to achieve a common
agreement with the television companies, thus reinforcing one another since
their individual relevance is scarce.
By the end of last month, 28 of the 30 teams participating in the assembly of
the Liga agreed not to play next season if there is no unified position
regarding the TV rights issue. The G-12 group, including Deportivo, did not
assist to the meeting. This tense situation is still to be finally solved
during the summer.
