As it’s almost certain that Javier Irureta will stay at Deportivo for at least another season, the focus of president Lendoiro could be on the reducing the amount of players in the squad and to look for even more quality instead of quantity. This season has shown once again that Irureta prefers the same players in most of the matches with others only participating when the stakes are less high, for example in the Copa del Rey. Therefore, Lendoiro could let go many players of the current squad and of the ones loaned out. Goalkeepers Of the current squad there’s no indication at all that Molina will leave Deportivo. Molina will be 34-years old when the new season starts and he has a contract at the club until 2006. The situation of the other two goalkeepers is unclear though as Munua is on loan for his season (although Deportivo have an option to buy him) while Songo’o was signed as third goalkeeper this summer and hasn’t played a single minute this season. Dani Mallo is on loan at Elche and will return this summer, and that will mean that either Munua or Songo’o will leave the club. Defenders Naybet, Cesar, Jorge Andrade and Capdevila are assured of a place in the squad for next season and only spectacular offers can take them away from Deportivo. That could be the case of Jorge Andrade as big clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona are after him. But the Portuguese defender, who will be 26-years old in eighth days, has a contract until 2009 and a transfer clause of €60 million. The other players are also attached to Deportivo: Naybet to 2005, Cesar to 2006 and Capdevila to 2007. The remaining defenders could be a target of a transfer this summer. Hector and Irureta don’t get along and the player hasn’t been used much this season. His contract runs out in 2005 and the defender will turn 30-years old next season, and therefore will probably be the first defender to go after this season. Another one could be Pablo Amo (26-years old). Although he made his Liga debut two weeks ago against Murcia he must decide for himself whether he wants to experience another period like the last two years. Defenders Manuel Pablo, Romero and Lionel Scaloni will very probably stay for at least another season at the club. Goran Djorovic (loaned out to Elche) will leave the club. So far there haven’t been defenders related to Deportivo. Midfielders Without surprises next season will see Mauro Silva, Fran, Sergio, Victor Sanchez, Valeron and Duscher at Deportivo. The cases of Amavisca and Djalminha are different as it looks like both players will leave the club this summer. Munitis could leave the club if a good offer satisfies all parties while loaned out players Jaime, Jose Manuel, Jesus, ‘Toro’ Acuna and Fernando probably never will wear the shirt of Deportivo again. One of the new signings for next season could be Spanish u21-midfielder Vitolo of CD Tenerife. The interest of Deportivo is well-known and the player is positive about a transfer to La Coruna. But there hasn’t been much news about the topic recently. Another player that has been related to Deportivo is Michel from Murcia. The former left midfielder of Rayo Vallecano is a personal favourite of Lendoiro but the club didn’t snatch the opportunity last summer. This year could see another window of opportunity as Murcia will very probably relegate to the Segunda Division. Other players that are related to Deportivo are Carmelo (Las Palmas), Valdo (Osasuna), Fernando Sales (Valladolid), Deco (Porto), Arteta (Glasgow Rangers), Xabi Alonso (Real Sociedad) and Quaresma (Barcelona). Attackers In the past two seasons Deportivo have always had three strikers available with the trio Luque/Tristan/Makaay (2002/2003) and Luque/Tristan/Pandiani (2003/2004). The strikers case could be the most interesting this summer as either Luque or Tristan could be the target of a move. The interest of Barcelona in Luque is well known, as is his contract (until 2010) and his buy-out clause (of €72 million). Similar to the case of Jorge Andrade, only a big offer can take Luque away from Deportivo. The situation of Diego Tristan is unclear as the striker has been out of form for two seasons now, since the World Cup of 2002. It could be that Deportivo will accept a good offer for the Andalucian striker. Pandiani will stay at Deportivo for at least another year and the situation of loaned-out strikers Sebastian Abreu and Changui is unclear. The contract of Ivan Perez runs out this summer. As probably one of the strikers could leave the team, rumours already have been going on about new signings for the attacking zone. The latest addition is the one of Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh of Girondins de Bordeaux. He’s 20-years old and has become a starter at the French club and played the Africa Cup 2004 with his country. Deportivo have a history with Moroccan players as Naybet is at the club since 1996 and Bassir and Hadji also have been around. One striker seems already attached as Deportivo have an option on Ruben (Las Palmas). The 22-years old forward of Las Palmas is the topscorer of the Segunda Division with 16 goals, and that’s a great achievement as his club are 21st in the domestic league. It’s likely that Ruben will be signed by Deportivo but could be loaned out to another club from the Primera Divison. Two weeks ago it was rumoured that Arsenal and Chelsea are after the young striker. A second realistic option could be the signing of Diego from Santos. The 19-years old player is one of the most promising players of Brazil. Other players related to Deportivo, but less realistic options, are Chevanton (Lecce), Raul Tamudo (Espanyol), Morientes (Real Madrid/Monaco) and Nihat (Real Sociedad). -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.229.12.142
