最後的熱身賽一比一平局收尾。
DEPORTIVO 1 – AL AIN 1
The last preparation match of Deportivo before facing Shelbourne
on Tuesday finished in a draw. Only 1,000 supporters were present
in Riazor, and saw a mix of starters and substitutes falling
behind but eventually equalizing through ‘Toro’ Acuna.
Aldo Duscher returned to the team after a small injury he picked
up during the match at Shelbourne, while another problem case,
Jaime Sanchez, replaced him later. Molina also started this match,
meaning the injury list of Deportivo is growing shorter and shorter.
Nevertheless, Mauro Silva, Fran and Diego Tristan were the players
still not fit for this match and the case of the Andalucian striker
looks to be the most serious one. Momo started last night’s match
as playmaker, with his ex-Las Palmas colleague Ruben close to him.
(傷病名單越來越短...哼哼)
Al Ain, labelled the best team of Asia by FIFA, didn’t have much
possession during the encounter with Deportivo. Neither the Galicians
were able to impress, although they created the better opportunities.
The duo Momo-Ruben functioned reasonably, although the striker didn’t
look as sharp as during previous matches.
The second half was the most lively one, as Al Ain quickly made use
of a defensive mistake by the home team. Capdevila lost possession,
while Cesar Martin couldn’t make up for it and Omar Mohamed opened
the score. Their lead wasn’t for long on the scoreboard though, as
five minutes later Paraguayan midfielder ‘Toro’ Acuna used a
free-kick to equalize the match. The ex-Zaragoza star was one of the
best players on the pitch, like Munitis was, but neither he could
acquire a better result for his team.
Coach Javier Irureta commented on the friendly saying that “there
are always some conclusions to be drawn. What was the case here was
the absence of tension or of the possibility to gain points. Overall
it was a typical pre-season match, but we should have scored at least
three goals”. Irureta confirmed that he kept several players benched
to give them some rest, but Molina played because “his last one had
been in Dublin”.
Lendoiro, president of Deportivo since 1988, said that “Al Ain wasn’t
an inferior rival as people assumed because these days every opponent
is difficult to beat. Meanwhile, we did what we could although it keeps
being the pre-season. On Tuesday all will be different”. Finally,
Lendoiro commented on the absence of new signings. “I understand that
people would like to see new faces. But a player able to rise our level
costs more than €12 million”.
