FRAN AND MAURO ACCORDING TO IRURETA

Javier Irureta has never hidden his admiration for his two players, Fran and
Mauro Silva. Every time he has been asked about both of them, Irureta has
marked their excellence as human beings. "Since I came to Deportivo, both
have had a sensational behavior in and out of the pitch", says the coach
about the two team captains.
According to Irureta, the farewell of both players "will leave a very
important gap at the squad as they have always been able to stand up against
the most difficult situations. But that's life!" states Irureta.
When talking about their football qualities, the Basque coach has only good
words for them. "Mauro Silva is the player that keeps the team balanced. He
helps his team mates when defending and he's also the first player to bring
the ball up front".
"Fran has been very important in those matches when the team wasn't able to
control the pace of the game. He gives the necessary rhythm. He is very
talented and specially, he knows where to pass the ball to get the most
benefit out of it".
Even though Irureta doesn't known yet if he will continue coaching Depor, he
knows next season he will not be able to have Fran and Mauro with him. Next
Sunday will be the last that both players will stand up together on Riazor's
grass while Irureta sits on the bench. Maybe, it will be the last game for
Irureta in front of the Depor supporters.
