DEPOR AFTER TOMASSON AND DORASHOO Thursday 26th May, 2005 The season has just started for Deportivo. The transfer season. And Lendoiro has bet everything to red. Lendoiro's ambitious project for next season has already two names: Milan players Vikash Dorashoo and John Dahl Tomasson. Two players that would bring back the illusion to the disappointed fans and would point out the club's clear intention of returning to the high places of the stand. The arrival of Tomasson, 28 years old Danish striker, and Dorashoo, 31 years old French midfielder, will not be easy anyway. Their price is something Depor cannot afford, that meaning Depor will have to take them on loan. The club's goal is to "borrow" a world-class player as Tomasson in order to build up a great squad and bring back illusion to the fans. So, both players would come on loan. According to Sportpaper Marca, Tomasson and Dorashoo would be glad to play next season at Depor and they have already agreed on the payment terms proposed by the club. Both have given their OK to the deal. Paolo Futre, Milan's agent for the Spanish League, is the man bearing the weight of the negotiations. Last January, the Portuguese ex player was in charge of the Coloccini's transfer. For the deal to be signed, the agreement between Deportivo and Milan is needed. Both clubs haven't yet negotiated directly as the Rossoneri have been focused on the Champions League final. However, both clubs have a very good relationship and it can be said the same about Lendoiro and Futre; facts that can help to overcome any difficulty in the deal. Another thing that can favor Depor is that both players are not of the liking of Carlo Ancelotti, Milan's coach. Tomasson is actually the fourth striker of the team since Shevchenko, Crespo and Inzaghi have prevalence. The quality of the Danish player is wasted on Milan's bench. Dorashoo has not played many minutes this year. Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini or Brocchi are way ahead of the Frenchman. Another difficulty for Deportivo is the high salary of both players since it is something the Galician club cannot afford to pay. However, as loan players it is possible that the salary would be paid by both teams. This is not unusual in the football world and a good example is Riquelme, playing at Villarreal but getting part of his salary from Barcelona.
