Julian de Guzman is the only signing of Deportivo at this point. The Canadian
international player arrived to La Coruna this week in order to buy a house
for him and his family. His presentation with the squad will occur next
Monday and he said in a interview to sportpaper Marca that he's anxious to
start his career in Spain.
Q: Are you ready to face the most important challenge of your career?
A: I'm wishing to start the pre-season. This step is very important for me
since Depor is a very well known club in Spain. Now that I think this I see
that the decision of signing for Deportivo was easy to take. I'm very happy
and I'm willing to play in la liga.
Q: Bundesliga ended some weeks ago. Have you had enough time to rest?
A: I didn’t have time to return to Canada and have some vacations there. I
was in Hannover enjoying some days with my friends. Five weeks ago I suffered
an injury in one of my ankles and I preferred to rest. Now, I will not have
troubles in order to start the pre-season.
Q: Are you at 100% now?
A: Each day I'm better, the only thing that I care is to start the work now.
This is the only thing that calls my attention. I'm used to the idea that I
will live in Spain.
Q: What do you know about your new coach, Joaquin Caparros?
A: Joaquin Caparros? I don't know him. I didn't know that he was the new
trainer, but if Deportivo have him in that position it’s because of his good
work. I’m wishing to meet my new partners and the coach.
Q: You know that Depor have a new coach, would this fact influence your
future at the club?
A: I don't think so. They signed me because the club believes that I can help
them. I'm here in order to work and make things easy for the coach when he
decides the starting eleven.
Q: The pre-season will start next week. Will you hold the rhythm?
A: My ankle is better everyday. The doctors told me that I will be able to
run in the next week without any problem. I have some days in order to
improve my physical condition. If we start to work on Tuesday it will be
better, I will have more time to prepare myself.
Q: What's the message that you want to transmit to the fans that haven't seen
you in action?
A: I know that they don't know me, but the people will enjoy my work. I'm
here in order to give everything to Depor.
