LENDOIRO: "PANDIANI WILL NOT RETURN TO THE TEAM"

It looks like the soap opera of Walter Pandiani is nearing
its end. The Uruguayan striker was scheduled to resume training
with Deportivo several times before, but his vacation was always
extended in the last moment. Now Lendoiro announced that a
transfer will be finalized in the next 72 hours, and that Pandiani
will not have the chance to meet his former team mates again.

BESIKTAS, BIRMINGHAM AND ZARAGOZA ARE THE POSSIBLE DESTINATIONS
In a press conference, Lendoiro stated that a deal will be
signed in the very near future, as he will choose to accept one
of the offers of Besiktas, Birmingham or Zaragoza. "Until we have
a definitive solution, the player will be on vacation. There is
no point in having him train with the team, as long as a transfer
will be made in the next twenty-four, forty-eight or seventy-two
hours", he added. Still, the president of Deportivo had to admit
that Pandiani would eventually return to the team if a deal cannot
be signed.

As for the most likely destination of the forward, Lendoiro only
mentioned that Besiktas have increased their offer but that
Birmingham are still in pole position. The turkish team "made
another bid in the past hours, but Pandiani's agent will have a
very importan meeting with the representatives of Birmingham this
Friday", he stated. As always, Lendoiro also tried to put the
pressure on the three competing clubs, saying that for Deportivo,
there is no hurry in finalizing a deal: "we can afford the luxury
of not rushing things".
