MAKAAY STILL WAITING FOR FINAL DECISION
Deportivo or Bayern Munich? At which club Roy Makaay will play next season is
still very unclear. The Dutch striker is enjoying his final days off in The
Netherlands and it looks like he will be present in Riazor on Sunday. But he
still hopes that Deportivo can achieve a deal with a club interested in signing
him.
Q: Are you getting nervous about the whole situation?
A: To be honest, I am not. I try to enjoy the final moments of my holiday, and
to pack things again like the rest of my colleagues.
Q: At the end of last season it seemed that there wouldn’t be much problems
concerning a transfer. But the current situation is very different.
A: I won’t enter into this discussion as I will only wait for things to
happen. I think there’s still plenty of time to arrange something and at the
moment I am only preparing my return to La Coruna.
Q: Have you ever doubted to return to Deportivo?
A: Never. I know that if Deportivo doesn’t reach a deal with another club
before Sunday, I will have to be present in Riazor like my colleagues. I
already have my return tickets to La Coruna, because when I left I bough them.
Q: Where has the information come from that you would not return to La Coruna?
A: I never have said this. I have talked to a Dutch journalist who works for
this magazine. He asked me some questions and I responded, but I have never
said that I will not return to La Coruna.
Q: What’s the latest news your agent has told you?
A: Not much, because I am not very involved in all this. Besides, we don’t
have daily contact. When there is movement he’ll tell me so.
Q: What about the interest of Chelsea?
A: I know something about it because I’ve heard in the news it on Tuesday. But
I don’t know whether it’s true or not. I am only waiting for confirmed news.
