But as coach Irureta will have to axe many players from it, especially if new players will be signed, the future of Djalminha is in doubt. More than ever Djalminha wants a solution for his situation, and therefore he wants a meeting with Lendoiro and Irureta. Q: How do you prepare the season if you don’t know where you’ll be playing? A: I am sure that this season will be a decisive one of my career. My preference is to stay at Deportivo, but the current situation is difficult. When I came back here I wasn’t told anything. I already have explained what I want, and n ow everything depends on others. It’s clear that I cannot decide about it, but I am not like a little kid to accept this situation. Q: But this situation isn’t new for you. A: Before I already have tried to speak to the responsible people and to make clear my preferences. But I didn’t achieve anything. Still I hope we can find a quick solution. I cannot continue with these doubts because I want targets in my life. Q: Is Irureta the problem or is there something more? A: There are various things, not only that the coach doesn’t count on me. I have come here to work and I am fit. About the rest I am not worried. Nobody can be guaranteed a starting place in the team, but concerning the football aspects I have a lot of confidence in myself. When I don’t deliver performances I will be the first one to leave the club. So, I would like to have a meeting with the coach and the president and to clear all up. Q: And if you must go, do you have offers from other clubs? A: I have 200 offers, but out of respect for the club I won’t speak about them. And I never have talked about money. I like football and I have the privilege that people are paying me for it. But for me personally it’s important that I am treated as a professional player. Q: Are you prepared to play in the Segunda Division? A: I don’t have problems with playing at any place in the world. But it hurts me that Deportivo haven’t offered me anything. For clubs it’s easy to say that they want me, but they’re playing with my name and all this is not very serious. For example, Deportivo could say that they want to sign Ronaldo. Q: Have you set a certain day to know your future? A: The sooner the better. I would accept if Deportivo doesn’t count on me because that’s how football is.
