Obviously their target will be reaching a positive result that could make more easier the way into their fourth consecutive participation in the this main European competition in the continent. The players of Deportivo recognize that they haven't yet reached optimums level after 23 days in the preseason. Instead, is in better shape with 16 games played. They lead the league in Norway with authority and with only one defeat in the season so far. Coach Javier Irureta warns of the danger of the Rosenborg's aerial game, as this characteristic made possibly the elimination in the second round of the Ireland team of Bohemians with a 5-0 win on aggregate. But Rosenborg haven't lost in their own stadium for almost a year and they already know how to defeat Deportivo. It was in the UEFA Cup in the season 1994/1995 as Rosenborg won 1-0 in Trondheim. But Deportivo won 4-1 in Riazor with three goals from Bebeto and one from Donato. Rosenborg also reached a draw in San Mames against Athletic de Bilbao in the season 1998/1999 and then they defeat the Basques in Norway 3-1. The Norwegians have a lot of experience in Champions League but they always had been eliminated in early rounds, with the exceptional case of the season 1999/2000 when they reached the second round. (所以說吧...大家會這麼緊張不是沒有原因的...他們真不是省油的燈啊.../_\) The main doubt for Deportivo is goalkeeper Molina who is recovering from a contractor. Fran and Luque won't play because of other injuries. But Irureta already has figured out which team to use as it will be based on the previous season. Only in-form Amavisca will take the place of Fran while Tristan replaces Makaay. Hector seems to have better chances than Manuel Pablo to occupy the right defensive position. Deportivo will start the ties with Rosenborg as favourites, something the team doesn't usually prefers. Matches have been won at Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona and Manchester United in the past seasons although there were many difficulties playing against clubs like Leeds United, Olympiakos, Lille, Lens and Basel in Europe. In Trondheim the team will face a similar situation, and the big question is whether the team is mature enough to cope with this role. A positive result is necessary though as getting into the Champions League is a necessity for Deportivo. Doing well in the Champions League will bring in million of Euros in the club and will make it more stable financially. The big contrast will be playing UEFA Cup matches as this won't raise money nor much interest. The team will be supported by a little group of fans who have travelled to Norway and will have to face temperatures of twelve degrees in Trondheim.
