2003/08/22 http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/ FRAN: “ALL WILL BE DIFFERENT AGAINST ROSENBORG” The season so far hasn’t been quit spectacular for Deportivo. Against the three teams of decent level (Porto, Rosenborg and Atletico) the team didn’t score while losing the two friendlies at home. But with the return match against Rosenborg next week, midfielder Fran of Deportivo has no doubt that “it will be completely different against them. When there’s something at stake, Deportivo always do best”. Irureta had mentioned that having four international players missing (Tristan, Valeron, Romero and Jorge Andrade) and all the substitutions made during the match were the two main reasons for the defeat against Atletico on Tuesday. But Fran also mentioned a psychological factor responsible for the defeat. “We as players are very focused on the match against Rosenborg and, sometimes, the friendlies aren’t played like they should be. These are just friendlies and not comparable to, for example, Liga matches. Sometimes one just doesn’t five 100 percent”. Fran was a bit surprised tough that so far the pre-season matches of Deportivo haven’t had much attention of the supporters. “Despite it being friendlies this surprises me. I expected a lot more people to be present in the past weeks. Against Rosenborg I hope to see the stadium filled and it will be fundamental. Like mentioned by Fran, Rosenborg has become the big obsession for Deportivo this week. The players know that the financial situation of Deportivo is at stake and the that failure isn’t an option. Fran mentioned, again, what he thinks about the team from Norway: “In a technical sense they might not be the best, but they compensate a lot with physical strength. The coach already warned us about it, and we must be careful”. Finally, the midfielder explained that he almost is recovered from the slight injury that prevented him from playing the match in Norway. “I had bad luck and only lacked two or three more days.
