ACUNA TO ELCHE IF DJOROVIC COMES WITH HIM
Yugoslavian defender Goran Djorovic is the key for both him and ‘Toro’ Acuna
to end up at Elche this season. The club from the Segunda Division have already
young goalkeeper Dani Mallo and midfielder Jose Manuel on loan and now are
after ‘Toro’ Acuna and Djorovic too. However, Deportivo have told ambitious
Elche that the midfielder from Paraguay will only go if he’s accompanied by
Djorovic.
But several problems frustrate a loan out or transfer of Djorovic at the
moment. First of all, Deportivo still owe Djorovic money for image rights from
past seasons. Second, Djorovic is among the highest paid players at Deportivo
(2 million Euro net per season) and still has 2 years of contract at the club.
Naturally he defends his own interests and wants to earn the same at Elche.
For their part, Elche want to offer him this salary but with the clause that
he’ll have to play at least 25 matches per season. If not his salary will be
split into half. Of course Djorovic doesn’t like this option as he has been
injured for many months during this time at Deportivo.
Meanwhile it also has been confirmed that goalkeeper Juanmi will leave
Deportivo and will be playing for Murcia this season. Lendoiro commented that ꄊThere’s a deal with Murcia because Juanmi asked for it. It’s verbal agreement
at the moment but serious enough to crystallize into a written deal”.
Juanmi comes from the region of Murcia and because of personal problems wanted
to return back. Lendoiro added that “we wanted to cooperate because of these
problems. But let me make clear that there never have been problems between
Depor and Juanmi nor between Juanmi and Depor”.
