[新聞]COMMENTS ON LIGA VICTORY

Coach Javier Irureta commented on the match of last night that “both teams had
several opportunities to score, and Zaragoza were close to scoring the
equalizer. But the state of their pitch could work against them this season,
and it already did in the first half with a chance of Villa”.
“We won this match because we were more sharp in front of the goal when
Pandiani scored. Beforehand we knew that things could become difficult here
because of the potential of Zaragoza and circumstances like the pitch. But now
we have started the new Liga with a win and that’s important. Still I liked
Zaragoza, because they have several very skilled players and try to play
football”.
Albert Luque left the pitch very satisfied and assured that “we have secured
three vital very important points to start the season. Besides being satisfied
about my own performance I think we did well winning here. I still am not used
to playing at the left wing and in the second half I became tired. Therefore
my substitution came at the right moment”.
But the Catalan striker also referred to the bad shape of the pitch both teams
faced. “It’s very difficult to play good football on a pitch like this one
because it’s very unstable every time you want to do something. But for us
it’s something of the past now and we should focus on our home match against
Bilbao”.
Finally, goalscorer Walter Pandiani commented that “these three points are
very important for us and I am personally very happy about the goal I scored.
Of course I didn’t expect to do it that quickly when I entered the pitch. But
I have worked hard for it and had the luck to score”.
Pandiani said about the pitch that “it’s difficult to play a match of the
highest level here because it makes it complicated to play football. I hope
this won’t be repeated because that would be best for Spanish football”.
