春訓的期間，他便向得過四次金手套獎的 Mark Grace 請教防守一壘的要訣
沒想到 Grace 說：「老實說，這又不是腦部手術。當內野手傳球給你，你就接；
當有內野滾地球過來，你就接起來踩一壘，這有什麼難的。」
