[流言] Dodger Stadium could host WBC 2009 Final
The Los Angeles Times reports that Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine is
in line to host the finals of the World Baseball Classic 2009. An
official announcement is expected for next month, when the
organizational committee will hold a meeting.
The venues for the first round were already confirmed on March 23.
The WBC will be opened in the Tokyo Dome in Japan. The Hiram Bithorn
in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rogers Centre, Canada, and Foro Sol Stadium
in Mexico City will also host preliminary round groups. San Diego’s
Petco Park could be the host for the second round.
All 16 teams of the 2006 classic will return in March 2009 to crown a
new WBC champion. Japan is the defending title holder. From Europe,
the Netherlands and Italy will participate.
