Czech squad for Italy friendly
PRAGUE, Feb 9 (Reuters)
Sparta Prague's new signings Petr Vorisek and Jiri Stajner were included
on Monday in the Czech Republic squad for a friendly against Italy in
Palermo on February 18.
Defensive midfielder Vorisek left FK Teplice for the reigning Czech champions
during the winter break while Hanover 96 striker Stajner was loaned to Sparta
to enhance his chances of playing in this year's Euro 2004 finals.
Coach Karel Brueckner left out the Liverpool attacking duo of Milan Baros
and Vladimir Smicer. Baros is still recovering from a broken ankle and Smicer
has an injured achilles tendon.
Hamburg SV stopper Tomas Ujfalusi was also unavailable after recent knee
surgery.
