在上週六西甲最後一輪對巴塞隆納比賽前，俄羅斯人接受的表揚，
然後在比賽接近尾聲時被替換下場，全場觀眾起立為他致敬。
Karpin 說道
「很感謝球迷的支持，還有皇家社會給他這樣的機會。他覺得退休是個正確的決定，
雖然可能幾個月內又會後悔。」
是皇家社會把他帶來西班牙，中間經歷許多，最後又回到皇家社會。
