Czech Republic striker Jan Koller insists his World Cup dream is not over
despite being stretchered off with a thigh injury against the United States.

The 33-year-old, who scored the opening goal in a 3-0 win, had been expected
to miss the rest of the tournament. But after an examination, he said the
injury was "simply a tear". "I'm going to have to rest for four days but
there's a chance for me to play again at the World Cup," said the Monaco
striker.
He added: "I probably won't play in the first round, but if we get through to
the last 16, I'll be available again." Koller's optimism was in sharp contrast
to the gloom in the Czech camp immediately after the match. "The injury is
really, really serious and it makes me very sad," said coach Karel Bruckner.
Koller, who has 43 goals in 69 international appearances, had only recently
recovered from a cruciate ligament injury that forced him to miss most of the
season.
The Czech Republic's other first-choice striker, Milan Baros, did not play
against the Americans because of a foot injury.
The Czechs take on Ghana in Cologne on Saturday in their next Group E match.
