[捷克]Rennes Reject Chelsea Bid For Cech

01/07/2004. Rennes have revealed that they've rejected a bid from
Chelsea for highly-rated goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The 21-year-old Czech international is extremely highly-rated and
understood to be coveted by a host of Europe's top clubs.
Cech is contracted to Rennes until 2006 and the French club have
insisted they'll not be letting their star leave until the summer
at the earliest.
"We received Chelsea's offer regarding the transfer of Rennes
goalkeeper Petr Cech on Monday, January 5, in the late evening,"
said a club statement.
"But Stade Rennais FC have refused that offer and informed Chelsea
officially that Petr Cech will remain in Rennes until the end of
the season."
Chelsea currently don't have adequate cover for Carlo Cudicini,
with Neil Sullivan recently struggling when filling in for the
Italian stopper.
