http://goo.gl/URo59 David Moyes confirms Everton will not buy in January despite defeat to Stoke City Scot feels his side deserved at least a point at the Britannia Stadium By Nick Price at the Britannia Stadium 1 Jan 2011 18:56:00 David Moyes expressed his frustration with Everton's inability to convert dominance into goals after defeat to Stoke City, but revealed that he would not be looking to make any new permanent additions to the squad in the January transfer window. Everton were defeated 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium, but the visitors created numerous opportunities before Kenwyne Jones headed home in the first half and Phil Jagielka shanked in an own goal in the second. "I don't think the score justified the result," Moyes told reporters after the game, "we played well enough to get something out of the game. "We played really well in the first half and we found ourselves come in at one-nil and it was a case of just saying 'more of the same', but we didn't do quite so well in the second half and I don't think the score was the correct score today. "I'm frustrated today because at the end of the day we didn't get something out of the game. I thought the boys worked tirelessly to get something out of the game, and the two centre-halves were immense - obviously the goals were disappointing - and Louis Saha played well up front today." The Scotsman admitted that he would be scouring for additions to the playing staff, but would not be making any purchases, saying that he "won't be buying any players" in the transfer window. He said: "It's January, we'll trawl the loan market and see if there's anything suitable - we would like to get some top players if possible." Moyes did admit that his side's permanent failure to convert chances into goals was a "recurring theme" that would be obvious to regular Everton watchers, and insisted that Jagielka, who struggled with Ricardo Fuller before prodding in an own goal, should have done more to prevent the ball from going in. "I thought he probably could have dealt with that better," he said, "but overall we nullified the threats all day and we restricted them to balls in the box and they got one which counted in the first half. "We had a lot of the game and Tony [Pulis] will be delighted that they got a clean sheet." -- 只租不買 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.34.82.86
