Volquez was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Monday, the Cincinnati
Enquirer reports.
Recommendation: The Reds called up Matt Maloney, but chances are that Sam
LeCure moves into the rotation and Maloney slots into the bullpen. Volquez
might have avoided the roster axe even after Sunday's bad outing, but his
comments after the game talking about run support further stoked the fire.
