1B Justin Morneau was held out of the lineup Saturday in order to visit hand specialist Dr. Thomas Varecka. Morneau will be out of the lineup until at least Tuesday. Morneau has been bothered by his left wrist for more than a week. He had an MRI on Thursday which revealed fluid build-up but no structural damage, and requested to take off Friday's game against Texas. "He was kind of shaking his head a little bit when I told him what my plan was, but I've watched him swing and I've watched him (swing) one-handed and he's playing with pain," manager Ron Gardenhire said. Morneau has also been hampered by a pinched nerve in his neck, which has no doubt played a major factor in his struggles at the plate this season. The former AL MVP is hitting just .225 with four homers and 21 RBI in 55 games. He played only 79 games last season because of a concussion. The Twins will know more about Morneau's status after his visit with the wrist specialist, but Gardenhire hopes Morneau can return to the lineup Tuesday.
