GM Ruben Amaro Jr. has been aggressive in targeting Pence but he is
competition with at least five other teams. The Astros are said to be seeking
four "sure-thing players," according to an ESPN.com report. That seems like
an unrealistic target but if there is a lot of competition for Pence's
services the Astros should make out well in any deal they pull off.
