Biography
Frank de Boer arrived along with his twin brother
Ronald, in January 1999 after long, drawn out
negotiations. He started his sporting career
defending the modest colours of De Zouaven.
However, he quickly packed his bags and made his
way to Amsterdam to play with Ajax where he
played for the greater part of his career as a
professional footballer.
When he arrived at the Dutch club he became a
regular and then a fundamental part of the great
Ajax team of the mid 90s which conquered Europe.
With Van Gaal as manager, he attained the starting
spot he so much desired and became a league winner.
During his last two years as a Barca player he has
been one of the main strengths in the defence.
