Football for Hope
The Nou Camp will host the "Football for Hope" benefit match in
aid of the Tsunami victims on Tuesday evening. The very best
players in European club football will be on show including a
large representation from FC Barcelona.
FC Barcelona is providing the stadium free of charge for Tuesday
evening's match which kicks off at 9 pm. FC Barcelona is also
providing more players than any other club: Ronaldinho, Marquez,
Eto'o, Giuly, Deco and Van Bronckhorst. The number of Barca players,
the high standard of the rest of the players and, above all, the
cause itself, all make this a spectacle not to be missed.
Van Bronckhorst comes into the line-up at the last moment to replace
Carles Puyol, who is suffering from a knee problem. 'Gio' was
personally touched by the events as his uncle was present in
the affected area.
Shevchenko v Ronaldinho: Europe v Rest of the World
The joint appeal by FIFA and UEFA has brought together the best
in European club football. The stars will represent Europe and
the Rest of the World and will be captained by Shevchenko and
Ronaldinho respectively.
The players lining up with Shevchenko include Del Piero, Raul,
Beckham, Gerrard, Zidane, Rui Costa and Barca's Deco. Ronaldinho
will be joined by, among others, Cafu, Kaka, Cordoba, Eto'o,
Kuffur, Montero, Geremi, Martins and Nakata. Frank Rijkaard and
Carlos Alberto Parreira will try and put a bit of order to the
two groups of players.

Eto'o: "If I were a fan, I'd buy a ticket"
Samuel Eto'o has confirmed that he'll be playing on Tuesday
evening and told us just why this match is so important to
him: "As a player, this match, and the one we played against
AIDS, are the most important matches of the season. If I were
a fan, I'd buy a ticket to go and see this match. The aim is
to help those in need showing that were all one family: he
players on the pitch and the fans in the stadium. It'll be
a great spectacle".
