Bayern Munich have to pay a heavy price for their UEFA Super Cup triumph
over Chelsea on Friday night with the loss of three players to injury.

Midfielders Arjen Robben, Javi Martinez and Mario Gotze will all miss
training next week, with Germany international Gotze ruled out for three
weeks.

Spain international Martinez, who scored Bayern’s last-gasp equaliser,
stretched a knee ligament and will miss out team training for the next five
days.

Club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt also ordered a three-day rest for
Robben, who was substituted with a swollen knee six minutes into extra time.

Gotze, who has just returned from a three month absence, suffered most and is
set to miss another three weeks of action. He twisted an ankle in the
challenge that saw Ramires sent off after receiving two yellow cards and will
be in plaster for a week, needing a further 14 days of rehabilitation before
returning to team training.

Subsequently the former Borussia Dortmund man had to pull out of the Germany
